What is your Repackaging Policy for Lucks' manufactured products?

Lucks Food Decorating Company packages and sells our products in packaging that has been approved for food contact and supports the integrity of our products. Our products are guaranteed not to be adulterated or misbranded within the meaning of the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act. Products received directly from Lucks were manufactured, packaged, stored, warehoused and shipped under conditions conforming to the Food and Drug Administrations’ Good Manufacturing Practice Regulation.

We cannot guarantee the integrity of any of our products once they have been repackaged.

Are products with shimmer approved for food use in the USA and Canada?

Shimmer ingredients are FDA approved for food use in the USA.

However, Health Canada has not yet approved shimmer ingredients for food use in Canada.

Can I buy Lucks Liquid Colors by the gallon?

Yes, all of Lucks Liquid Colors can be purchased by the gallon. Please call our customer service department at 1-800-426-9778 to place orders for the gallon size of Lucks Liquid Colors.

How do I get started printing photographs and custom images in my store?

You either can purchase a print on-demand system which will give you full technical support and is designed specifically for this application. Or, for the technically savvy, you can create your own system. You can use your current computer and scanner with a photo manipulation program, but MUST purchase a new printer and dedicate it to FOOD PRODUCTS ONLY. Before purchasing a printer, you will need to make sure it is compatible with the Edible Ink Cartridges available.

Do you sell print on-demand systems?

No, Lucks does not sell systems or printers for print on-demand. Print-Ons® sheets are compatible with most print on-demand systems and printers on the market. We manufacture and supply the consumable products – Edible Image® Print-Ons® Sheets and Edible Ink Refill Kits.

Are your products Kosher Certified?

Yes, Lucks’ manufactured products are all Orthodox Union Kosher Certified. Please see this page for a list of Kosher certificates.

Are there any allergens in Edible Image® decorations, Designer Prints™ and Print-Ons® Sheets?

There are no allergens in Print-Ons® Sheets. Soy Lecithin is used in some colors used to print Edible Image® decorations, Designer Prints™ and Designer Prints™ Sheets. The Soy Lecithin we use is a highly processed form of soy that does not contain any protein. Please check the ingredient statement on the package label to see if soy is present.

The following ingredients are NOT used in this manufacturing facility and will NOT come into contact with the products being produced: wheat, milk, eggs, fish, shell-fish (crustaceans) peanuts and/or tree nuts. Lucks products are also gluten free.

Are there any allergens in Dec-Ons® decorations?

Yes, egg whites. Dec-Ons® decorations are manufactured in a facility that produces products containing eggs and soy products. Formulations that do not contain allergens are produced first on the equipment at the beginning of the day. Once complete, production moves into the formulations that contain allergens. A complete wash down and sanitation of the equipment is conducted at the end of the manufacturing shift.

The following ingredients are NOT used in this manufacturing facility and will not come into contact with the products being produced: wheat, milk, fish, shell-fish (crustaceans) peanuts and/or tree nuts. Lucks products are also gluten free.

Are there any allergens in Royal Icing decorations?

Yes, eggs. Royal Icing (sugar) decorations are manufactured in a plant that uses milk, tree nuts (including peanuts) and wheat. Royal Icing decorations are gluten free.

Are there any allergens in Lucks Colors, including Liquid Airbrush Colors, Shimmer Airbrush Colors and Edible Inks?

There are no allergens in Lucks Colors. The following ingredients are NOT used in this manufacturing facility and will not come into contact with the products being produced: wheat, milk, fish, shell-fish (crustaceans) peanuts and/or tree nuts. Lucks products are also gluten free.

Do you use any FD&C Yellow number 5 (Tartrazine) in your products?

Yes, both manufacturing facilities, which produce Edible Image® decorations, Designer Prints™, Designer Prints™ Sheet, Print-Ons® sheets, Dec-Ons® decorations, Royal Icing Roses, Shimmer Airbrush Colors and Lucks Liquid Airbrush Colors use FD&C Yellow #5.

What type of modified food starch is used in Lucks products?

The modified food starch used for Edible Image® decorations, Designer Prints™, Print-Ons® Sheets, Dec-Ons® decorations, Royal Icing Roses and Lucks Liquid Airbrush Colors is either tapioca, waxy maize (corn), or rice starch. We do not use wheat products in our facility.

Are sprinkles vegan?

Sprinkles are not vegan – the product contains Confectioner’s Glaze which is made from shellac from the lac beetle.

How do I become a customer or order online?

Lucks serves the food industry including independent retail bakeries, in-store bakeries, retail bakery chains, donut shops, ice cream/yogurt stores, caterers, retail candy stores, food service operators, mass merchandisers, club stores, and restaurants. We sell either direct or through distributors. To become a customer or get set up to order online, simply fill out and submit a customer enrollment form.

What if I am not a business?

You can purchase our quality products through one of our distributors that sell direct to consumers.

How do I obtain credit with Lucks?

Please call customer service at 800-426-9778 and request a credit application. We will email or fax one to you.

Do you sell product outside of the United States?

All non-licensed products are available around the world. We have distributors in many countries. If there is not a distributor in your area, contact Lucks customer service for more information at 1-800-806-2595 or 253-383-4815. Our full line, including licensed products, are available in the United States and U.S. territories and possessions.

What are your shipping terms?

• All orders are typically shipped the next business day after you place your order; delivered via FedEx Ground.

• Same day shipping is available for an additional $7.00, for both standard delivery and expedited service.

• Freight is prepaid on ground orders of $75 or more within the continental U.S and most of Canada (excludes distributor and custom sales).

• Orders under $75 are subject to a flat shipping fee of $7.00.

• Orders over 150 lbs. may be shipped by our choice of Common Carrier within five business days of receipt of order. Orders for larger volumes may take longer to process.

• FedEx Next Day, 2nd Day and 3rd Day is available to customers for an additional charge.

Is there a minimum order?

We do not have a minimum order (unless ordering custom product). Orders less than $75 ship FedEx Ground for a flat $7.00 fee.

What is the minimum order for free shipping?

Shipping is prepaid on orders of $75 or more for our standard product line sold within the continental U.S. Orders under $75 are subject to a $7.00 shipping fee. Orders for custom products or distributors have different terms, contact Lucks customer service at 1-800-806-2595 for more information.

How long will it take to get my order?

Every effort will be made to ship products within 24 hours of order receipt, for delivery in five days or less within the continental United States. Please allow up to six business days to receive your order. FedEx Next Day, 2nd Day and 3rd Day is available to customers for an additional charge.

What if I did not receive the correct product or it was damaged?

Simply call Lucks Customer Service within 10 days of receipt of product and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

Do you keep credit card information on file?

No, for the security of our customers, we do not keep any credit card information on file.

What is your return policy?

Lucks guarantees the quality of our products. If you receive a product that is damaged, flawed, or that fails to perform as expected, please contact us, and we will offer you a full refund or exchange.  

Edible products may not be returned, except in the case of quality defects.

How do I find out about custom products?

Lucks has the ability to customize Edible Image® and Dec-Ons® decorations designs and or packaging to meet the needs of our customers. Minimum orders do apply. Contact Lucks’ Custom Projects Manager at 1-800-806-2595 for more information.

What if you don’t offer the design I want?

Call Lucks Customer Service with your suggestions. Lucks’ Design Team reviews customer suggestions and trends throughout the year and may add an item if we see the demand.

Can I use Edible Image® decorations for other products besides cakes?

Yes, Edible Image® decorations are versatile and work on numerous types of food products. Our standard catalog products are specially formulated to work ideally on buttercream icings, but also work for other food product applications. We also have the capability to custom formulate Edible Image® decorations based on the type of food product it will be applied to. You can contact Lucks Custom Projects Coordinator at 800-806-2595 for more information on custom product development. Minimums will apply.

Will Lucks products survive freezing and thawing?

Lucks Food Decorating Company products are all manufactured to work in some of the most demanding wholesale environments, which include freezing and thawing without color bleed or product degradation.
