1. Tint light blue buttercream icing using gel color; it need not be fully mixed as variegation will lend to the “frosty” appearance.

2. Ice the cake in white icing, and then apply a second coat of light blue icing around the sides of the cake; ice smooth.

3. Affix Edible Image® decoration to the top of the cake.

4. Before the icing crusts, use a spatula to carve “swags” around the sides of the cake, as shown. When the spatula is pulled through the icing, the white beneath the blue is revealed.
